Isn't she just a cutie?
Anyways, ICE CREAM. Don't we all love ice cream?? If you answered no then there's seriously something wrong with you. Just kidding, but that's just a little weird ;). I found this quick and easy homemade ice cream recipe that is PERFECT for a little treat with the kid(s), and fun to make and they can certainly help out!
Katelyn, Nick, and I had fun doing it as an FHE activity/treat after our lesson. It's so easy and you almost always have all of these ingredients (minus the rock salt).
So here is the link:
Or just read the recipe here:
Ingredients:
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1/2 cup milk or half & half
- 1/4 teaspoon vanilla
- 6 tablespoons rock salt
- 1 pint-size plastic food storage bag (e.g., Ziploc)
- 1 gallon-size plastic food storage bag
- Ice cubes
How to make it:
- Fill the large bag half full of ice, and add the rock salt. Seal the bag.
- Put milk, vanilla, and sugar into the small bag, and seal it.
- Place the small bag inside the large one, and seal it again carefully.
- Shake until the mixture is ice cream, which takes about 5 minutes.
- Wipe off the top of the small bag, then open it carefully. Enjoy!
And here we are making the treat:
Katelyn really liked shaking the bag
I don't know what she was doing with her lips. She's doing it in the above and below picture. Silly
Shaking the bag with mom
Oops, our bag has a hole! Luckily the ice cream was done before it started leaking :)
Relaxing after our ice cream
So happy
Cheese!
