A Day At the Dental School...

Yesterday Nick invited me to go with him down to the dental school. This doesn't happen often, but when it does I don't pass it up. I actually really enjoy it. Nick knows me well and knows I would rather being doing anything with him (even if it is watching him work on a project for school) out of the house than being home alone with Katelyn. Not that I don't love being a stay at home mom, I just love being able to go out and do stuff, that's why Katelyn and I try to make as many trips as possible to the park, I just love being out.

So we watched him work on a project for awhile. I walked around the halls with Katelyn. I saw some of the offices where they work on patients. They showed me a freaky clown hanging from the ceiling in the children's office, etc. etc.  It was a lot of fun, I don't get to go down there very often. After Nick was all done with his project he asked if I wanted to make a cast of Katelyn's foot. I was more than excited to do this!

SO.. we did. It was a bit hard, which now I'm thinking we really should have come in earlier to do it. 1. Because we were planning on doing it when she was a newborn, but never did. 2. Because it really would have shown how tinsy tiny her little hands and feet used to be. 3. Because she moves A TON now so it was really hard. & 4. Because her foot was too big even with 2 packets to get all of it! haha, but here is what we got.. and I absolutely LOVE it! I think it will be such a great thing for her to see when she is older, and we can still remember, even if she is not a newborn, how tiny her little toes and foot used to be.

Here is our paperweight:

It actually worked REALLY well. I was surprised at all the detail it got. Fingernails, lines in her feet, etc.
And there it is. Her tiny little foot. I love it and I think Nick should use it in his dental office as a paperweight when he is finally working. :) Best thing about it is that it was free! Actually. . . it wasn't considering all the tuition and fees we pay.. this foot is worth thousands of dollars in that case.

Thanks for taking us to school with you NICK!! :)
