I think i'm just going to start crawling now..

Lately Katelyn has been spending quite a bit of time on her tummy. Not that we force her to, she just rolls over. It's funny because I think she's scared to roll back onto her back because when she does she rolls really fast and sometimes falls hard, so she'll stay on her stomach and push up and scooch with her legs, but then get tired and won't roll back onto her back. She does know how to though, because randomly she's done it several times. She just doesn't want to.

She's 4 months old. I can't believe it. She gets way up there with her arms. I think she'll be quick to crawl, but at the same time, maybe  she's just teasing us and will take awhile. We will see.

She laughs all the time with us now. At random things. Sometimes she'll just laugh if I lay next to her and start laughing, it's really cute.

I think she's becoming more attached, to both Nicholas and I. Lately she just wants to be held a lot. She wants to make sure we are in sight, if not she gets mad. She likes to move around and go places. I'm constantly putting her on the floor then a few minutes later, trying to sit her in her bumbo chair, then picking her up, walking with her around the house, going outside to check the mail, going on a walk, sitting with me at the computer, sitting in her boppy.. she just can't stay in one place for very long! She likes to see new things.

She has quite a few toys, but I can tell she gets really bored of them after awhile. Like today she didn't really want to play with anything, but I had this necklace with little beads that hang down from it and she was grabbing for it and so I finally gave it to her, then when she started yanking hard on it I took it away and immediately she started crying. haha, she definitely knows what she wants and knows how to get it.

Like when she doesn't want to be burped and just wants to keep eating she'll push on you and push up with her legs, arch her back, scream.. she's quite the character.

When friends are over though, she acts on her best behavior. It's funny she just stares at everyone and sits there. Longer than any times she'll sit still with just mom around.

She sleeps very well now. Goes to bed at nine every night and wakes up at 4 or 5 to eat, then goes back to sleep until 7:30 or 8:00.

She pulls her binky out of her mouth ALL the time now. The only problem is she doesn't know how to get it back in, so then of course she gets a little frustrated and mom has to come over and help her by taking her hand and putting it back into her mouth. Then she's happy again. :)

I started swaddling her again at night. She likes it. After only about 3 weeks she hated being swaddled at all, now I think it keeps her nice and warm and for some reason she just likes it again.

She got two shots at her last appointment. She did so well! The first one she only let out one scream and then just looked at me and completely stopped. The second one though you could tell hurt. :( She cried and I cuddled her and she just did this cute little sob and breathed in really hard, it made me so sad.

She's growing. At her last appointment she weighed 11 lbs. 15 oz. So i'm assuming she's 12 or more pounds now. And she was 24 inches long. I can't believe it. She's almost doubled her weight since birth, that just makes me think of how tiny she was!

I love her eyes. They get so big sometimes, and other times they are just sweet and her eyelashes curl up.

The boys at cub scouts just love her. Today they were tickling her feet and talking to her and playing with her. She likes seeing them all. She probably has a crush already, who knows.

We love Katelyn so much. She is such a happy baby. I can't believe how quick she is growing. I probably write more than people actually want to know, but I'm thinking one day I'll print some of my blog off to keep as sort of like a journal. And I just like documenting things. I have had tons of journals, I even have one for Katelyn that I write in about things we do and special moments we have together, that one day I will give to her to read when she is older. I love her so much.

Aw, that little cutie. I miss her. It's crazy how much they change in just a month or two when they're that young. Hopefully she's not scared of us next time we see you.

aw, i loved reading that! she sounds like she's getting to be so much fun! i love that she cried when you took your necklace away from her, haha. and that she's on her best behavior around strangers! yeah, i bet she'll be crawling before too long! tyler does the exact opposite right now: he can move himself a couple of inches by pushing with his feet, but his arms aren't strong enough to lift up yet. katelyn is so cute!

oh Raquel, Katelyn just recently started pushing up with her arms too and now she does really well. How I got her to do it (because she NEVER would)is I would put her on her tummy and then put her arms under her so she was on her elbows then hold my hands on the sides of her arms keeping them there so the only way she could push was not out but push herself up. That seemed to do it and she just started doing it a ton all on her own!
