Katelyn 5 Months
Well, Katelyn is just about 5 months old. She will be 5 months on the 30th. I can't believe how fast she is growing. I never knew how much love a parent could have for their child. I've always heard how much parents care for and saw how much my parents did for me and loved me, but having your own child is the best way to truly understand this.
Well, I just wanted to mention that because I've heard so many sad stories lately involving children. A toddler found sitting in the middle of the road at midnight all alone, a toddler who died of heat exposure because she was left in a car for over 2 hrs. going to daycare, another 5 month old baby who was burned on over 40% of his body with the mother sitting right next to him tanning. It makes me sick to hear all of these stories. Take care of your babies, they are so innocent and deserve the very best.
Each month I am going to try and get a good picture of Katelyn all dressed up and with a nice background so I can put them in her baby book and see how much she changes over time. So i've been working on taking pictures, and also editing them afterwards. I hope they look alright and not "too" photoshopped, if you know what I mean. I'm trying to pick a favorite one for this month to go in her book, I'm having a hard time deciding though, any suggestions?

Katelyn also just recently tried rice cereal. She loved it.
I think she knew what was coming.
She was eyeing it and leaning over to grab it before I even got started.
She loved grabbing the spoon!
mmmm.. yummy mommy.
You should have seen what happened when I was done. I wish I had the picture, but she stopped, stared at me, then I took it away and she threw her arms up in the air and started crying and grabbing her head. It was so funny. She wanted more.

Also lately, Katelyn has been sleeping on her tummy. I know they say not to, but we don't put her on her tummy. I still put her on her back, then I'll go in after a couple hours after she's been put to bed and find her on her tummy. The first few times it scared me and Nicholas and I would roll her back over. This didn't really help though because sometimes she would wake up, or she would lay there on her back for a second then fly back on her tummy. haha, it's so cute. I guess she really likes it now.
Here is what she's been doing lately:
-Sitting (really well, we sat outside once and watched daddy wash the car and for about 10 minutes she sat up with out falling once!)
-Rolling over. ALL. THE. TIME.
-Taking her binky in and out of her mouth
-Screaming, laughing, talking, smiling
-Blowing bubbles
-Pulling momma's hair as much as she can
-Still sleeping about 30-50 minute naps about 3 times a day
-Going to bed at 9:00 p.m. waking up at 4:00 a.m. to eat then back to sleep until about 7:30-8:00
-Pushing off in the crawling position to take that first leap
-Grabbing and eating her toes
-Rolling on her tummy before mommy can put her diaper back on (she does this all the time now with out fail, I didn't know a diaper change could be so hard!)
-Eating rice cereal.
-LOVES going outside. She definitely doesn't like being indoors all day. Sometimes going outside is the only way to make her happy. She knows what she wants, silly girl.
-One last thing, Katelyn loves reading with me. I lay down with her, hold up the book for her to see and we read the whole story and bible stories everyday together, then after wards I let her touch the book and she can read it by herself. She is SILENT the whole time, I love it!

So cute! And growing up so fast. I think i like #3, it looks a little more natural. Or that one of her laughing, it shows her personality. She's so cute :)
I say #3 or #4
She's getting so big! She's a total doll!
