May 4th, 2007...

Is when we got engaged.

I remember being so happy. We flew out to Colorado for the weekend and I had no idea Nick would be proposing to me. It's kind of a funny story for those of you who don't know. Nick and his brother, Daniel, both proposed on the same day. I was told that we were going hiking so that Daniel could propose to Julie (my sister-in-law now). And they told the exact story to Julie except that it was Nick proposing to me. It worked out pretty well. On our hike Nick whispered to me that we should hurry and go ahead and let them fall back so Daniel could stop and propose. As we were doing that Daniel and Julie were slowing down so that we could get ahead and Nick could propose to me. So you can see why us girls weren't confused about us splitting up, we thought we were giving the others their space to propose. 

So anyways, Nick took me up on a ledge overlooking the area, Garden of the Gods. He set up the video camera and I thought he was going crazy because he kept testing it and asking me to like scooch down a little on the rock, then scoot to the right, and doing random little things like that just to make it perfect. haha. Then he was being all nice and pulled out some fingernail polish....... and that was when I thought "Oh my... you're kidding me, is this really happening?" Yup at that moment I knew he was going to paint my nail and then put a ring on it. :) It was great. So he of course proposed after that and I said yes and life has really just been so great with him ever since!

I'm glad for the memories I have with Nick, especially this one, ones that make me happy and remind me of how much I love him.
