NEVER Bake a cake in a cake pan that is too small. I have a problem. For some reason when I read 9x13 i always think of my small little baking dish, when in reality it is not. And although the batter looked quite high in the dish, smart as I was, I thought "oh well!" and still put it in the oven. I'll leave the rest of the story up to your imagination :)
As for the blood test. Katelyn had to get her blood test done last week, or really whenever we could make it in. Secretly I had been postponing it because the thought of it made me want to cry. I finally caved and decided I better take her in today. Well, for one thing, I don't really hate needles, but being in the doctors office waiting to be pricked just makes me extremely nervous. It doesn't hurt, but I couldn't say it wouldn't hurt for Katelyn. I was in the chair waiting in the room holding her and (no joke) I felt tears coming to my eyes and I was very nervous. So many things were running through my head "what if she just screams, thats the worst." "what if she squirms and I can't hold her so it'll be worse and take longer?" "I wonder how bad it will hurt her, poor girl" well in comes the nurse. She sticks the needle in her finger and it makes that loud snapping noise then.... I wait, squinting my eyes... And Katelyn just sat there. And stared. The nurse said "you're not going to even give me a little squeal?"
I had no idea it would be that easy. If I would have known I'd gone in last week. Why do we (I) worry myself so much?
Im just a happy mom now with a happy sleeping baby :)

Vacation Pictures
Ok so I remembered that I had already transfered all the pics from our vacation off the camera to the computer so it's easier now that I don't have to transfer it all. i'm not so much of a slacker, told ya I'd get caught up :) here are some of my favorites:

she's so fun
wearing her new outfit from uncle Daniel, aunt Julie, and cousin Leila
Katelyn loves sitting on things, one of those things happened to be Leila. She just wanted to snuggle with her ;)
we also went to the King Tut Museum in Denver! It was last time they were showing it in the U.S. (if I remember right).
we also went to the bean museum in Utah. Katelyn loved it.

Christmas
I'm slow. I don't have a computer. And I for some reason haven't had a big desire to blog lately. I will catch up though.
This will be quick.
Christmas was wonderful. I really enjoyed going back home to Utah to spend time with my family. Then afterward also going to Colorado and spending time with Nick's family.
In Utah we....
-went ice skating (LOVE it.)
-did A LOT of shopping :)
-went bowling... I might say I have improved with in the last year or so.
-Had a 1 year birthday party for my baby doll Katelyn
-Cut a cake to find out if my sister is having a boy or girl (she is having a girl :) according to the cake that is.. )
-Celebrated Christmas
-Went to Christmas Eve dinner at Red Lobster (this is my favorite restaurant)
-Had a lot of coughs and runny noses
-Made an attempt to go to the BYU basketball game (first one in a long time), but my poor little brother got sick with the stomach flu and on the way to the game in the car he... well.. you know the rest.
-Saw Santa Clause with Katelyn and had her sit on his lap and get a candy cane (my dad dressed up as santa, hopefully i can get the pics up. he looked awesome!)
In Colorado we...
-Saw TRON. Pretty good.
-Saw TANGLED. VERY GOOD.
-Had Christmas
-Celebrated Katelyn's actual birthday
-Katelyn got her SECOND tooth :D
-Went bowling, got my highest score ever. 111.. I think?
-Celebrated the New Year by staying up, watching the NY tv thing, and playing Monopoly deal ;)
-Got sick the day we had to leave to go home.
I had the worst plan ride home ever. I have never felt worse. I was going in and out of the bathroom multiple times thinking I would throw up. My ears at the end felt like they were going to explode, they were plugged and hurt so bad. I came home with the chills, a fever, my body aching, and completely miserable. My wonderful husband immediately went to the store that night around 10 pm and got me medicine, nice hot soup, and gatorades :)
Then the next day we had church, then Monday school started for Nick. I was sick, congested for about a week. Then right as I started feeling really good and myself again, the next Tuesday I got sick with the stomach bug. Threw up that morning and went to get Katelyn and guess what... she had the same thing! :) It eventually passed on to Nick and then after a couple days passed back to Katelyn again. Luckily I think it's ALL GONE now. Keeping my fingers crossed.
Other than the last bit, our Christmas break was AWESOME! That is why I love the holidays. Being with family, having fun, remembering our Savior, and being jolly all the time.

ONE YEAR
12.30.2009 - 12.30.2010
Well, she's finally one year old. We had a wonderful party for her in Utah on the 28th. I had my little cousins come and they played games, we ate cake, opened a few presents, and by that time Katelyn was exhausted. I really liked celebrating her birthday with my family.
Katelyn has grown so much in one year. She is very smart and understands a lot of things. She likes to run, babble, and laugh. We couldn't be happier. She makes life full of fun.
I did the monkey cake in Utah. When we were in Colorado, it was her actual birthday (The 30th of December). I made the same cake and frosted it, but then Nick wanted to decorate this one, so I let him have at it! He did an awesome job. I was impressed and almost convinced we should just drop dental school and open a cake shop ;) That would be fun, I love watching shows like cake boss and want to work in a place like that.
Here is the cake Nick decorated:
Happy Birthday Baby GIRL!!

Santa Clause Is Coming To Town..
But I've been a little bit naughty lately...
Somehow though.. I fake my parents and they are still going to spoil me because they think I'm just SO SWEET.
I can't wait for Katelyn's first Christmas! We are leaving to Utah on Monday. These next 3 weeks are going to be a lot of fun and we are really looking forward to spending time with family and celebrate Christmas, Katelyn's 1st birthday, and New Years. :)
