I couldn't think of anything for Nick this year so I decided Nick loves food and I would make him a really nice breakfast on Valentines Day (most days we just eat cereal, except for Saturday's, but then again I have to work almost every Saturday morning so I'm not able to make a nice breakfast then either). So the night before Valentine's day I went and bought the groceries. That little sneak found out when I was cooking dinner that night!! He grabbed something out of the fridge and moved some things around and saw the sausage, then asked why we had sausage..... I couldn't help but to smile. Then he tried to pretend he didn't know what I was doing, he's so cute.
I made:
- Apple pancakes (they were yummy, I saw the recipe in a magazine and forgot to write it down so I kind of went off of what I remembered)
-Sausage
-Hash brown (more like a diced potato mix)
-Scrambled eggs
-Orange Juice
It was great.
Step #2: Make your husband a card (I recommend doing this before you cook the breakfast because if you're like me and wait until after breakfast is done you can't wake your husband up to come eat until the card is done so then the food gets cold...) I just learned this. :)
I also like making my own cards because... well I just do, it's easy to buy one, but hopefully Nick enjoys them more because I spend time on them.
Step #3: Get work off (I forgot to do this, so I went to work that day from 12-5:00, not too bad I guess).
Step #4: Husband gets the wife something really sweet!! :)
For me, it was a bunch of pictures AND picture frames! I didn't expect it, but Nicholas surprised me when I got home from work. I love it, now I can decorate that empty wall of ours.
Step #5: Go to Stake Conference
Just kidding, but we did have Stake Conference on Valentine's night and we were probably one out of the 3 young couples there (along with all the older married with 5 kids couples). Go us.
Step #6: Get Chinese take out and a really good movie!! (May I recommend Fireproof, excellent movie!)
Result: Successful Valentine's and a happy husband and wife
