Happy Valentines Day

A couple years ago I noticed most holidays I didn't do much to celebrate them. So I told Nick that every holiday, big or small, I was going to make the most of it and have fun. I mean why not? How often is it that we get to celebrate and enjoy holidays? Only a few times a year. So I think I've been pretty good since then, this Valentines Day was fun.

I started out by knowing I had to get Katelyn a heart balloon. Because her birthday balloon had popped and she was so sad when it did. I felt bad and I knew she would love another balloon.
We surprised her that morning with the balloon waiting outside her bedroom door.

Nick left to school early which stinks because I couldn't make him breakfast, but I could start working on my little crafts/gifts for him for the day!

I made Katelyn and yummy pink strawberry smoothie for breakfast with pancakes. She LOVES smoothies and gets so excited when she see's me making them.

I made Nick a guitar pick out of an old credit card and I printed off some guitar music to a song he used to sing to me when we were dating. He's been wanting to get back into playing his guitar so I thought this might motivate him a bit.

I made Katelyn a tic tac toe board and a card.

I got Nick a crush soda and put a little note on it that said "I've got a crush on you." I also bought him some chocolates and those said "I love you more than chocolate.. and that's a lot!"

I hung a few heart decorations in our entry way.

He came home and was surprised by it all. He also surprised me with some flowers and a gift.

Nick kept trying to get me to find my gift, but I had no clue what was going on. I told him Katelyn and I were going to check the mail and he said "grab a jacket" but I told him I'd just run out real quick. I came back in and he said "Can you hang up those jackets?" I was thinking, "why are you asking me to do this right now?" haha and so I told him just a minute. Then he was like "Just hang up the jackets!" So I was kind of frustrated and said "FINE, what's the matter?" and I opened the closet and started hanging them up and noticed a brand new pink work out jacket. That was the reasoning behind his odd behavior. I LOVE my new jacket! I had been wanting a new light weight jacket, but I hadn't even told him so it's like he read my mind. And I'm trying to keep up my exercising so this will help cause I can wear my fancy new jacket out :)

I'd say we had a good Valentines Day. I love my family so much and I'm glad I could share a little love with them on Valentines Day and let them know I love them very much. I hope you all had a good Valentines Day and remember you are loved! :)
