I know what you're thinking... don't worry... I'm thinking the same. "GROSS". This is my "Life Science Project". I don't know who in the world made it a requirement for Elementary Education majors to select an invertebrate organism and observe and keep it alive, but it is one of our assignments.
At first these guys were meal worms, but they change into beetles! It's so crazy. Anyways, my group handed them over to me today and I have them for the whole weekend :S
The girls in my group said that the beetles can't get out of the container, but Nick and I didn't trust that so I put a clear plastic wrap over the container--as you can see in the pictures-- and I poked holes in it. I can't believe they have had it open like that for so long though.
I am not good with bugs. Ask Nick. I have to change their food from carrots to apples either tomorrow or Sunday. It will take me awhile to do this.. secretly though, I'm going to try and get Nick to do it ;) haha.
Anyways, just thought I'd let you know that we have some ridiculous critters in our house do to my wonderful science teacher.

Wow...I'm sorry you have to keep those. I would try to get Nick to change their food too. YIKES! Good luck!
Oh my goodness, our meal worms still have not turned into beetles yet. Those are so sick!
